The Park Is Open

top-logoTHORNBERRY OFF-LEASH DOG PARK IS OPEN!! How do we put it into words? We are happy, we are excited, and we are grateful. Read more from the board about this wonderful event. See photos from the opening day. (More photos added 8/1/06.)

The Thornberry Off-Leash Dog Park (TOP) opened on Saturday, June 17, 2006. You can buy your park tag at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center or Iowa City Parks & Recreation. Bring proof of rabies and spay/neuter and microchip (if applicable) when you go to purchase a tag. You can also buy a 1-day pass at the park. TOP is open from dawn until dusk each day. Click Park Info & Rules to find the park registration form.

Please read the park rules and other park information. Note that when the city is mowing any of the yards, those yards are closed. Use a different yard until the city workers are done.

Memorial Bricks

DogPAC is selling memorial bricks that are part of the entry to the park entry walkway. For $100 you can immortalize your dog and support the park. An order for additional engraved bricks will be sent to the engravers at the end of this month, so please get your check and order in by September 6, 2006. Use the order form here or the one in the recent newsletter as well; either way, join in and get a brick! It’s a great way to support the park. If you have any questions, please call Barb at 319-338-4650.

Sand Burrs

DogPAC invites you to a sand burr-pulling party this Wednesday, August 23, at 6:30 pm.
